(above the treetops)" was composed and recorded in
1992 for the "Treetops" E.P. release. The guitar was
recorded at St. Georges, Brandon Hill, Bristol which is
said to have one of the finest acoustics in Great
Britain. The clever arrangement is by Ben Williams. The
chord sequence remains the same throughout but, as the
theme evolves, Ben twists and contorts the chord
voicings taking the music to an ever darker place.
Mambo" was recorded mostly for fun and largely while
drunk. It features a trumpet (actually a guitar
synthesizer) and an acoustic guitar playing
"call-and-answer" style over a groovy Latin beat. It has
become a "must include" track for programmers of
elevator music across the globe and features, quite
possibly, the cheesiest synth-horn sound ever recorded!
Percussion and backing vocals by Cheesy, Queso & Fromage.
